Payed Search Marketing

Every major search engine with significant market share accepts paid listings. This unique form of search engine advertising guarantees that your site will appear in the top results for the keyword terms you target within a day or less. Given this, paid listings are an option that should be explored by site owners who wish to quickly build visibility. They may also be a long-term advertising option for some. Paid search listings are also called sponsored listings and/or Pay Per Click (PPC) listings.

What Is Paid Search Marketing?

Paid search marketing is known goes under many names; the most recognised is Pay Per Click (PPC), although it is also known as search engine advertising, sponsored listings, placement targeting and many others.
Google Adwords, Yahoo! Search Marketing and MSN adCentre are the main search networks that people advertise on.

Paid search marketing means that you advertise within the sponsored listings of the search engine or a partner site of the search engines (sometimes known as contextual advertising) either on a pay per click (PPC) basis or cost per thousand impression (CPM). Pay per click means that the advertiser pays only when and ad clicked. Cost per thousand impression means that an advertiser pays every time their ad is shown.
